In the spring of 2007, the founder of The Colored Pencil Project traveled throughout Southeast Asia distributing notebooks and pens to children in rural villages. Looking into the faces and hearts of these little ones, the idea of The Colored Pencil Project was born. The notion being that sometimes even a tiny act, like distributing art supplies, can make a difference in this great big wounded world.

The South Africa project reached over 800 children in 15 orphanages in townships outside of Johannesburg

Upcoming ProjectThe Colored Pencil Project will be headed to Arunachal Pradesh, India this fall with plans to reach 1,000 kids throughout various villages in the northeast region.
